Café Entenwerder 1, a floating piece of luck.
We discovered, my husband and I this place a few weeks ago during our last trip to Hamburg.
It is a piece of heaven floating on a pontoon in the middle of the North Elbe. The arrival is already idyllic via a century-old and completely renovated bridge paving the way to the Elbe, surrounded by wildflowers.
The café building consists of two pink shipping containers fitting perfectly in the environment, furnished with colorful mix of chairs and benches.
The place breathes freedom.
You will have one of the best coffee in town from Public Coffee Roasters in Hamburg’s Neustadt district, as well as drinks, snacks, cakes, ice cream and daily specials as fennel risotto or cucumber and melon salad with smoked trout the whole prepared by cook Nina Plazonja and her team.
Everything around is made with so much love and the service is extremely friendly.
The “Golden Pavilion”, built also on the Pontoon will host the sailing school for children.
From Hamburg center, on a sunny day we would recommend you to arrive by bicycle through a cycle path along the Elbe.
A lucky experience to enjoy.
